Abstract

I argumentationsteorien opfattes billeder normalt som ude af stand til at argumentere. I denne tekst behandler Jens E. Kjelden antagelserne om at argumentation er bundet til eksplicit verbal kommunikation og at billeders semiotiske karakter umuliggør sådan argumentation. Frem for dette syn, skriver han, bør vi hellere betragte argumentation som handlinger; og eftersom billeder kan bruges til at udsige og handle, kan de også bruges til at argumentere.

Jens E. Kjeldsen, Universitetet i Bergen

Jens E. Kjeldsen er professor i retorik og visuel kommunikation ved Universitetet i Bergen og ved Södertörns Högskola. Han har blandt andet skrevet Visuel retorik (Bergen, 2002) og Tale med billeder – tegne med ord (Oslo, 2011).
